CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Five individuals, including a former inmate, were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEA-10) in Barangay Carmen, this city.
The operation dismantled a drug den owned by the prime suspect, identified by his alias Jeff, a 37-year-old resident of the said place.
Four others who were apprehended were Alias Al (31), Rey (24), Archie (18), and Alias Marie (28), all residents of different areas in Misamis Oriental.
Authorities seized small sachets believed to be shabu from Jeff’s possession.
The confiscated drugs weighed approximately 9 grams with an estimated street value of 70,000 pesos.
The suspects will face charges under Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“The government remains committed to eradicating illegal drug activities and ensuring community safety,” said PDEA Agent Sue.
“It’s essential to continue these efforts to protect our communities from the dangers posed by illegal drugs,” she adds.
