Volt Bohol of the August Twenty One Movement (ATOM) expressed strong disagreement with Congressman Edgar Erice’s statement likening Vice President Sara Duterte’s situation to that of the late Senator Ninoy Aquino.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Bohol stressed that the two circumstances are vastly different, particularly in how each leader faced their respective cases and challenges. He pointed out that Ninoy Aquino was known for his peaceful stance and never resorted to bearing arms, even in his opposition to dictatorship something he said cannot be attributed to the Duterte administration.

Bohol further emphasized that the nation’s history shows the distinct contexts of events during Ninoy’s time compared to today’s political issues.

ATOM underscored that each situation must be judged based on actual details and not forced into parallels with unrelated historical circumstances.
