John Barry T. Tayam, LPT, a Supreme Court petitioner, insisted that Senate Resolution No. 44 may constitute a violation of the law because it appears to shield Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa despite the existence of a warrant of arrest against him.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Tayam argued that such protection is unfair to ordinary citizens, who would never be granted the same privilege.
He stressed that if a regular person had a warrant of arrest, they would be compelled to face the legal process, unlike what is being extended to Senator Dela Rosa.
