Atty. Antonio Soriano, lead convenor of Citizens Watch for Good Governance, reacted with laughter rather than anger to the commotion inside the Senate the other day.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Soriano described the scene as resembling children running around in confusion, saying it reflected disorder and a lack of coordination among those present at the time.
He noted that he saw no indication of an actual arrest operation against Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa being carried out by law enforcement personnel in the area. Instead, he observed that panic spread as people rushed about due to conflicting information circulating regarding the incident.
Soriano explained that the situation created confusion among the public because of the varying interpretations of what had happened. While it was clear that gunfire did occur, he stressed the need for authorities to clarify details to avoid further misunderstanding and misinformation among the people.
