Mental Health Coach Stella Ferrarez has proposed including parental criminal liability in the amended Republic Act 9344 to hold parents accountable for offenses committed by their children.
She explained that beyond Pre-Cana seminars, parents should undergo psychological evaluations to address personal trauma and issues.
This would prevent them from displacing hidden anger or problems onto their children, which could lead to delinquency.
Ferrarez added that such a legal measure is necessary to make parents responsible for crimes committed by their minor children due to parental neglect.
