True reform and not token solutions! This was expressed by labor activist Ka Rene Magtubo in his criticism of the Marcos administration’s programs.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, he stated that the government’s job fairs are merely token solutions or window-dressing because they fail to address fundamental employment problems.

Furthermore, he argued that the government’s announcement of 60,000 supposedly hired applicants cannot withstand scrutiny to provide sustainable, well-paying jobs for the public.

Thus, Magtubo pushed for the implementation of structural reforms that combine local industry development with agricultural modernization.
