“As we face the Corona Virus threat, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) together with other Office representatives; Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Government Office (PGO) and Provincial Information Office (PIO) conducted a meeting at Capitol Marawi City in line with the effors of the Local Government of Marawi to prevent the spread of virus. They had outlined the guidelines or sequence of steps how the local authorities should handle the Person Under Monitor (PUM) and Person Under Investigation (PUI) in Lanao del Sur area.
It was highlighted in the said meeting that the local Health care practitioners especially Amai Pakpak Marawi City (APMC) should promptly notify infection control personnel at their facility of the anticipated arrival of a patient who has confirmed COVID-19 or is a PUI. Whilst all household members of the PUM especially those coming from Manila or other places that have confirmed COVID-19 is also advised to seek immediate medical care when they start to develop signs and symptoms in local Public Health Care.
Furtheremore, Municipalities and local authorities should coordinate to the local public health to determine need for modified caller queries about COVID-19 in Lanao del Sur.” (Zia Alonto Adiong)
