Anti-war advocate Ben Tiu Contreras criticized the government’s swift approval of the proposed American Pax Silica project, dismissing assertions that the facility is primarily intended to generate local employment.
Contreras argued that corporate investment messaging is being used to disguise plans to turn key areas in the Philippines into strategic intelligence launchpads against China.
He claimed the current administration’s foreign policy leaves the country vulnerable to foreign military influence, transforming locations into surveillance hubs.
Contreras maintained that public awareness and civic organizing remain essential to protecting national sovereignty.
