Cagayan de Oro’s agricultural sector must not be left behind in adopting modern technology despite the city’s fast-paced urban development.

Agricultural Productivity Operations Office (APOO) Acting Department Manager Engr. Bernie A. Daba Jr. highlighted this priority during a ceremonial turnover of farming and fishing equipment.

To help local workers keep pace with technological advancements, the city government distributed solar-powered irrigation pumps, irrigation accessories, organic fertilizers, pumpboat engines, and fish aggregating devices to coastal barangays from Bugo to Bulua.

Daba noted that holding the initiative alongside the Fiesta sa Kaamuhan highlights the city’s commitment to supporting agricultural livelihoods.
