Atubangon ni Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Chief Director Jesus Fernandez ang mga kasong kriminal ug administratibo human gibutyag ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla ang alegasyon sa P14.7-milyon nga kickbacks sa ambulance deals.
Sumala ni Assistant Secretary for Local Government Atty. Jesi Lanete nga gisang-at batok kang Fernandez ang kaso sa pag-abuso sa pondo sa gobyerno, paglapas sa ‘Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act’, direct bribery, ug grave misconduct.
Gisugyot usab sa DILG sa Office of the Ombudsman nga ipailalom siya sa preventive suspension samtang nagpadayon ang imbestigasyon. Ang kaso nagpunting sa giingong manipulasyon sa bidding sa 132 ambulances nga gihimo sa BFP kaniadtong tuig-2024.-(Phillip Ariata)
