Chief Intelligence and Investigation Fire Inspector Mary Ranelie Ladrillo Salga of BFP Cagayan de Oro commended local government units for procuring ₱10-million mini fire trucks for municipal barangays, describing the initiative as a major modernization step.
Salga detailed that the compact units feature an 1,800-liter water capacity capable of continuous six-to-eight-minute suppression operations while maneuvering through narrow residential alleyways.
She noted that these units serve as immediate penetrator vehicles, containing localized fires while larger fire engines navigate urban traffic.
