City Council Member Eric Salcedo denied rumors alleging that council members received monetary kickbacks during negotiations for the ₱8.5-billion Government Complex loan.

Salcedo questioned why minority councilors raised objections during the general session rather than during the Laws and Rules Committee hearings attended by the Local Finance Committee.

He affirmed that his affirmative vote was based on feasibility study findings showing 80 percent public support for relocating municipal facilities, emphasizing that his decision rests on policy merit rather than political considerations.
