Though the process is long and arduous, the labor group has not lost hope in their long-standing demand for a 1,200-peso living wage, continuing their calls and pressure on the government, especially as the president prepares to deliver his SONA.

According to Atty. Sonny Matula, president of the Federation of Free Workers, the estimated 1,200-peso daily wage would provide genuine security for workers despite the difficulty of achieving it.

He urged everyone to include this in their calls to highlight the push for higher wages this Monday, July 27.

Therefore, he stressed that this must continue to be fought for and integrated into the administration’s subsequent steps to achieve fair welfare for every Filipino family.
