A fire broke out Wednesday night at a bulk LPG filling station in Cimuning, Bekasi City, West Java Province, injuring 12 people, authorities confirmed Thursday.
The incident occurred around 21:30 local time in Mustikajaya district, where firefighters from multiple stations, aided by residents, battled the blaze for several hours before bringing it under control.
All victims sustained burn injuries and are receiving intensive medical care. Police reported that both facility workers and nearby residents were affected.
Officials are continuing to gather data on the victims while launching an investigation into the cause of the fire.
The incident underscores ongoing safety concerns in fuel-handling facilities across the region.
