The leadership of House of Hope Foundation Incorporated has urged the city government, through JR Borja City Hospital, to adhere to the memorandum agreement (MOA) signed between both parties without any irregularities.
The agreement concerns the management of mentally challenged patients housed at the foundation’s facility in Upper Palalan, Barangay Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro.
House of Hope co-founder Msgr. Tex Lehitimas expressed disappointment, stating that the city government has not sincerely upheld the agreement.
He emphasized that they wish to regain control of the foundation, which they have nurtured for 26 years, but was mishandled after the local government took over.
Under the MOA, JR Borja City Hospital was designated to manage House of Hope, with the city government providing ₱3 million in annual financial assistance for patient care.
Lehitimas and his team are now seeking the proper implementation of the agreement, ensuring adequate support for the vulnerable individuals under their care.
