CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Hundreds of protesters were blocked by the authorities in a checkpoint at Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon this Good Friday.
In an exclusive interview, Police Regional Office (PRO)-10 PLTC Surki Serenias said they decided to obstruct more than 200 members of KASAMA and KASILO group from Bukidnon who plans to conduct a rally in Cagayan de Oro City due to the presence of minors along them.
Protesters were riding in a three (3) public utility vehicle and nine (9) multicab as they traveled in the area.
They insisted and pretended that all of the minors were their children and niece, but they failed to show some documents to prove their claims to the personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Serenias added that there is no harassment done by the PNP to the group besides, they are free to go as soon as they are cleared of any lawful infraction.
They have the rights to administer a rally in a condition that there will be no minors associating them.
