The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) will officially conclude its work on March 31, according to Chairman Justice Andres Reyes.

Reyes stated that the commission has already fulfilled its mandate of investigating irregularities and has properly turned over all gathered documents and evidence to the Office of the Ombudsman.

The ICI was created to probe alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

Its operations lasted nearly four months, but by January several commissioners had begun to resign.

With the commission’s closure, the Ombudsman now takes the lead in continuing the investigation into questionable flood control projects.
