The Senate impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte lacks decisive evidence despite reaching its 20th day of hearings, according to Ateneo de Davao University Professor Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc.

Dr. Maboloc noted that the prosecution has yet to establish a direct causal link proving the Vice President personally benefited from confidential funds.

He observed that while testimony from hostile witness Atty. Michael Poa highlighted administrative irregularities within DepEd spending, it fell short of proving personal enrichment or betrayal of public trust by the Vice President.

Consequently, the case remains unresolved due to a lack of direct evidentiary links to VP Duterte.
