The League of Filipino Students (LFS) NCR, through spokesperson Kyla Sofia Benedicto, expressed concern that the Philippines could become a target amid rising tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
She argued that this is linked to the U.S. strategy of establishing military bases in the Asia-Pacific, including in the Philippines, to strengthen its influence and control.
Benedicto noted that ongoing military exercises from Luzon to Mindanao heighten worries about local security and the country’s vulnerability in the context of global conflicts.
She emphasized the need for the government to closely monitor developments and craft a clear protection plan for national security.
Furthermore, she urged the public and students to reflect on the long-term implications of foreign military presence and regional tensions.
Finally, she called on citizens to actively monitor and raise awareness about decisions that could impact the Philippines’ security.
