Nearly 800 police officers and election personnel from Northern Mindanao have been deployed to reinforce security and safeguard electoral integrity during the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections.
COMELEC Region 10 Director Atty. Renato Magbutay confirmed that the contingent includes 280 police officers trained as Special Electoral Boards, alongside a 100-member reserve force assigned directly to Lanao del Sur.
Technical support teams and Special Action Teams have also been dispatched to manage field operations.
Atty. Magbutay highlighted that this election marks a crucial democratic transition from the Bangsamoro Transition Authority to a directly elected regional government.
