CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Seven police officials including Philippine National Police chief General Archie Gamboa and four others were injured after a police helicopter crashed on Thursday morning during take-off in Laguna, Manila.

Police emergency responder Captain Edgar Miguel said Gamboa and the rest of the four passengers and the two pilots were injured.

They were all taken to a nearby hospital, he added.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Directoral Staff Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said, among those injured were PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen Bernard Banac, Comptrollership Chief Major General Jovic Ramos, PNP intelligence director Major General Mariel Magaway, Pilots Col. Ruel Salazar, Lt Col. Rico Macawilli, Capt. Gairamara and Master Sgt Loui Sestona.

Eleazar said, cause of the crash is still unknown.
