CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Police Regional Office 10 is deeply saddened with the unfortunate incident that left 4 civilians and 2 policemen wounded due to a misencounter that transpired at Barangay Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City, Thursday night.
Police Lt. Colonel Surki Sereñas, spokesperson of PRO-10 said, the incident stemmed from a covert police operation launched by a tracker team from Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office.
One of the members of the said tracker team, Police Staff Sergeant Arman Tagolimot, whose, mission was to track down and arrest wanted criminals, was tailing one wanted criminal covered with an arrest warrant for murder at Barangay Puerto where the misencounter with another police officer (Police Chief Master Sergeant Jose Ryan Sevillano) took place.
The misencounter resulted in the wounding of the four civilians identified as: (1) Jaymar A. Canencia, (2) Mary Ann L. Ordaña, (3) Darlene V. Eduave and (4) Elenita C. Salinay; including PSSgt Tagolimot and PCMSgt Sevillano.
The victims were confined but now out of danger.
In-depht investigation is on-going to shed light on the alledged misencounter.
