Misamis Oriental 1st District Representative Karen Lagbas clarified the next phase of the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte after the complaint was declared sufficient in substance.
She said the House Committee on Justice will begin examining evidence and summon those who executed the documents for questioning.
Following the hearings, the committee will prepare a resolution or report based on its findings, which will then be endorsed to the plenary to determine whether or not to impeach the Vice President.
Lagbas explained that impeachment can be initiated either through a private complaint endorsed by one to three congressmen or by at least one-third of all House members.
She emphasized the importance of providing clear and transparent information to the public as the legal and constitutional process unfolds.
