The Senate has opened the discussions on the proposed reset of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections.

Lawmakers already postponed the polls three times, moving them from the original May 12, 2025 schedule to March 30, 2026.

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri urged colleagues to treat this as the final postponement.

He argued that repeated delays made the elections long overdue and worsened instability in the region.

Zubiri insisted that the government must finally hold the BARMM elections to uphold democratic processes.
