In celebration of Women’s Month, the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) offices in Tagoloan and El Salvador reported an increase in cases related to Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC).
Tagoloan WCPD Chief PSSG Cherry Mae Lumahang and PMSG Gecyle Grace Tumanda of WCPD El Salvador stated that most of the reported cases involve physical and psychological abuse.
They noted that physical abuse is the most common, followed by psychological abuse, which sometimes includes incidents involving third parties.
The two officials urged women victims of abuse to go to the nearest police station and seek help from the WCPD so their situation can be addressed.
They emphasized that the WCPD will continue to provide support and services to strengthen gender equality and community protection.
