CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – “Better to resign than to be terminated”.
Citizens Watch for Good Governance (CWGG) Convener Atty. Antonio Soriano bluntly declared that Vice President Sara Duterte’s exit from the Cabinet screams of a final, irreparable rift between the two power-hungry political clans.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, the lawyer laid bare the raw truth – Vice President Sara Duterte’s resignation boils down to political maneuvering.
He emphasized that a string of clashes and disputes over the past year has laid bare the frailty of the so-called “Uniteam” alliance.
Antonio scoffed, “The vice president got caught in the crossfire, courtesy of the escalating madness exhibited by former President Duterte in his vendetta against President Ferdinand Marcos.”
The ex-president repeatedly hurled accusations at Marcos, branding him a drug addict.
This provocation incited First Lady Liza Araneta to pounce on VP Sara, calling her a “bad shot.”
“Resigning is a badge of honor, a calculated move to avoid the axe, given that she felt marginalized by Marcos’s cronies.”
Atty. Soriano minced no words, “her continued tenure in the cabinet is now a lost cause”.
Yet, he predicts that the masses, ever drawn to the underdog, will eventually rally behind her.
