CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – “Better to resign than to be terminated”.

Citizens Watch for Good Governance (CWGG) Convener Atty. Antonio Soriano bluntly declared that Vice President Sara Duterteโ€™s exit from the Cabinet screams of a final, irreparable rift between the two power-hungry political clans.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, the lawyer laid bare the raw truth –  Vice President Sara Duterteโ€™s resignation boils down to political maneuvering.

He emphasized that a string of clashes and disputes over the past year has laid bare the frailty of the so-called โ€œUniteamโ€ alliance.

Antonio scoffed, โ€œThe vice president got caught in the crossfire, courtesy of the escalating madness exhibited by former President Duterte in his vendetta against President Ferdinand Marcos.โ€

The ex-president repeatedly hurled accusations at Marcos, branding him a drug addict.

This provocation incited First Lady Liza Araneta to pounce on VP Sara, calling her a โ€œbad shot.โ€

โ€œResigning is a badge of honor, a calculated move to avoid the axe, given that she felt marginalized by Marcosโ€™s cronies.โ€

Atty. Soriano minced no words, “her continued tenure in the cabinet is now a lost cause”.

Yet, he predicts that the masses, ever drawn to the underdog, will eventually rally behind her.
