Authorities confiscated 1,250 rims of various cigarette brands worth ₱1 million during a checkpoint operation in Barangay Samburon, Linamon, Lanao del Norte.
Police Regional Office 10 reported that the contraband was loaded in an Isuzu Elf truck without proper legal documents.
After documentation and profiling, the driver and his companion were released, but the truck and seized items remained in police custody.
The cigarettes will be turned over to the Bureau of Customs for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, provincial police continue strict monitoring to prevent the entry of similar illegal shipments.
