CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Three individuals were arrested during a joint buy-bust operation conducted by the COCPO CIU Tracker Team, RID 10 and RIU 10 on March 26, 2026, at Rotonda Circle, Brgy. Macasandig, Cagayan de Oro City.
Arrested were alias “Anton”, 34, of Punta Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City; “Vin”, 24, of Brgy. Macabalan; and “JJ”, 24, of Brgy. Kauswagan, all residents of this City.
The suspects were apprehended after a poseur buyer successfully purchased one caliber .38 revolver without serial number and of unspecified make, leading to their immediate arrest for violation of R.A. No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Recovered during the operation were three large sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 35 grams with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP238,000.00, constituting a violation of Section 11 of R.A. No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Accordingly, the suspects allegedly engaged in theft, delivery, and sale of illegal drugs. Alias “Anton” was reportedly previously convicted in a drug-related case, while the other suspects are considered first-time offenders.
Also confiscated during the operation were one genuine PhP 500 bill used as buy-bust money and one PhP 1,000 bill used as mocked money.
The confiscated firearm and illegal drugs will be submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for laboratory examination, while the arrested suspects are now under the custody of COCPO CIU for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges.
PBGEN CHRISTOPHER N ABRAHANO, Regional Director, PRO10, lauded the operating units for the successful operation.
“We commend our personnel for their dedication and seamless coordination. Let this serve as a stern warning to those who continue to engage in unlawful activities—PRO10 remains relentless in its mission to ensure the safety and security of our communities,” he said. ###
