Misamis Oriental Board Member Dexter Yasay questioned why the Sangguniang Panlalawigan is being blamed for the wave of resignations among doctors and nurses in provincial hospitals.

He stressed that the board does not sign payrolls, checks, or appointments, calling the accusations “unfair.”

Yasay said the issue lies in management, policy, and the relationship between the Provincial Government and its medical staff.

He rejected claims that employees resigned out of fear of not being paid, insisting it is the administration’s duty to foster a positive and productive work environment.

He also suggested deploying consultants to provincial hospitals to give chiefs flexibility in finding replacements when doctors resign.
