Cagayan de Oro City Police Office ( COCPO) Spokesperson PCAPT Emilita Simon affirmed that police operations in Cagayan de Oro City remain in full force despite rising fuel costs, stressing that the city director considers law enforcement duties “non-negotiable.”

She said operations are being strengthened rather than slowed, with tighter border control points, enhanced intelligence monitoring, and coordination with banks, malls, and businesses to prevent crime that could surge under current economic conditions.

Police urged the public and establishments to reinforce security measures such as installing CCTV, improving lighting, and safeguarding property to help deter criminal incidents.
