Atty. Goyo Larrazabal, senior partner at Divina Law Office, is calling on the government to adopt consistent and long‑term solutions as the country faces an energy crisis and soaring oil prices.

Larrazabal emphasized that government programs should not be discontinued once a problem subsides. He cited the bicycle‑use campaign, which slowed down after the pandemic, as an example of initiatives that should have been sustained.

He urged authorities to craft a ten‑year plan to ensure effective results in transportation and energy measures. Larrazabal also suggested that the Philippines look into the practices of other countries that maintain oil reserves, which serve as buffer stocks during supply shortages and price hikes.

By implementing strong, continuous, and long‑term strategies, Larrazabal stressed, the government can better shield the public from the impact of the ongoing energy crisis.
