Mental health advocate Stella Ferrarez emphasized the importance of including SOGIE and sex education in schools to help young people better understand their identities.

She explained that, based on Erikson’s psycho-social stage of development, children aged 13 to 16 should already receive adequate education on these topics to prevent mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.

Ferrarez argued that instead of limiting these lessons to senior high school, it would be more effective to introduce them earlier.

By doing so, students can develop a stronger sense of self as they grow.

She stressed that this step is both a truth and a reality that society must accept and support.
