Patrick Allan Callanta, Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer of OCD-10, urged the public to conserve water and electricity in anticipation of the effects of El Niño.
He reminded citizens to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and to drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration and other heat-related illnesses.
Callanta also warned against burning trash or any materials that could trigger farm fires. He emphasized the importance of regularly monitoring official advisories from PAGASA, OCD, and local government units for updated information.
Residents in areas prone to water shortages were likewise encouraged to prepare emergency supplies to ensure their safety during the drought season
