Rauf Sissay of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) denounced a Facebook post by a municipal police station in the Davao Region that tagged well-known activists, particularly members of the Kabataan Partylist, as wanted persons.

According to Sissay, the posts did not cite any violations or cases against those named, which they consider a tactic of intimidation and harassment against progressive groups.

He added that such actions reveal the authorities’ intent to silence their efforts in advancing the rights of the poor and other marginalized sectors.

For BAYAN, this move constitutes a violation of their rights while the country continues to grapple with major issues such as conflict and government corruption.

Despite these pressures, Sissay affirmed that they will persist in standing for their cause in pursuit of the welfare of the Filipino people.
