Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN), through Rauf Sissay, reminded the government and authorities of every citizen’s constitutional right to express, petition, and organize.
Sissay explained that these rights are guaranteed and recognized by the Philippine Constitution.
He also noted that beyond the police, such actions appear to be supported by forces from the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), along with online trolls and intelligence operatives.
According to him, these groups continue to spread disinformation and harmful accusations against activists. Sissay clarified that these incidents are not new, as they have already experienced similar situations in the past.
