Acting City Information Officer Jade A. Adeser clarified that circulating news on social media claiming Mayor Klarex Uy requested the council to declare Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano persona non grata is false.
Adeser explained that the report came from a troll account and fake page called Higala Headlines, which aims to discredit Mayor Uy and City Hall.
He stressed that the City Council is an independent body and the mayor cannot dictate its operations. Adeser added that Mayor Uy is currently focused on serving the people of the city rather than worrying about the Senate’s power struggle.
He further revealed that the attack against the city administration was clearly planned and funded.
