Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Head Fernando Sotsot Dy announced that only two Local Government Units suspended classes today following the earthquake felt across Misamis Oriental.
The decision was made despite reports confirming no major damage to infrastructure throughout the province.
The two LGUs that declared class suspensions were the municipality of Opol and the city of El Salvador, out of the province’s 25 LGUs.
While assessments are ongoing, Dy clarified that no reports of affected families or individuals have been received.
At present, authorities continue to monitor all areas to ensure the safety of residents across the province.
