Attorney Franklin M. Quijano of PDP Laban Iligan City expressed doubt over why the government refuses to acknowledge the testimonies of 18 former Marines.

According to Quijano, this is because institutions such as the Ombudsman and the NBI are already controlled by syndicates seeking to dominate all branches of power.

He explained that the control over the executive, legislative, and judiciary is a clear indication that dictatorship has begun in the country.

Moreover, many believe that the Philippines is currently under what is called a “creeping” or undeclared martial law, due to the sacrifices in justice and the weakening of the economy.

For Quijano, this situation reflects the lack of moral ascendancy in the nation’s leadership.
