Ryan Blanco, Project Development Officer of DepEd CDO, reminded the public of the importance of regularly training students in the “duck, cover, and hold” method to prepare for earthquakes.
He said every school must have its own evacuation route and area that is practiced by all.
These preparations aim to reduce the risk of injury or loss of life during a major earthquake.
Blanco emphasized that such drills are crucial to ensure students know what to do in emergencies.
DepEd continues to encourage schools to take safety protocols seriously.
