Rauf Sissay of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) described the continuation of the impeachment process against Vice President Sara Duterte as a positive development for the country.
However, he admitted they are managing expectations since the current political system has long served the interests of powerful politicians, corporations, landlords, and elites.
BAYAN urged the public to remain vigilant and critical of the Senate proceedings.
Sissay explained that they, along with other progressive groups nationwide, are monitoring the trial to ensure that it does not merely serve the personal interests of those in power.
