Dr. Raymond G. Dela Cruz, OIC-Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Health 10, warned the public about the serious threat of climate change to food security in the region during the 52nd Nutrition Month celebration.
He noted that reduced rainfall has negatively affected corn production, a staple food source.
He also observed a rise in stunting cases, highlighting the severe impact of poor nutrition on children.
Dr. Dela Cruz called for collective action to mitigate climate effects and prioritize the needs of children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
