Mental Health Consultant Stella Setier-Ferrarez gave great attention to the importance of a child’s first 1,000 days because this is the time when critical development of their body and mind takes place.
In her interview with Bombo Radyo, she reminded parents that good nutrition and care starting from the prenatal stage are a big help in avoiding stress and illnesses that damage a child’s mental health.
She added that food does not need to be expensive because maintaining a healthy body is a way to keep a person’s mental health at the highest level.
Therefore, she encouraged all Filipino families to nurture proper health in children from infancy to avoid the risk of anxiety and depression in the future.
