Transport groups are struggling with the continuous rise in fuel prices, now reaching ₱117 per liter, according to Luzminda R. Escobidal, president of PN Roa Canitoan Transport Cooperative (PONTRANSCO).
She said that although the LTFRB approved a fare increase on March 18, 2026, it was suspended by the president, worsening their hardship.
Escobidal added that the fuel subsidy of ₱10,000 for modern vehicles and ₱5,000 for traditional jeepneys lasted only a day and a half.
She appealed for more government support to help drivers and operators sustain their daily livelihood.
