Members of the transport sector insist that the suspension of fare increases must be lifted to keep the industry afloat amid rising fuel prices.
PONTRANSCO president Luzminda R. Escobidal reiterated their request for a provisional fare increase of ₱1 for traditional jeepneys and ₱2 for modern ones.
She said drivers and operators can no longer bear the daily expenses given their declining income.
A roundtable discussion with the LTFRB is being planned to present their grievances and clarify agency policies.
