Extremely lacking, repetitive, and “rehashed” was the content of the fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This was the reaction of economist and former Misamis Oriental Vice Governor Joey Pelaez after hearing Marcos’s hour-and-a-half report yesterday.
For Pelaez, it was worthless, and the Filipino people received virtually no new information from Marcos’s statement, as it felt like a duplicate of his previous SONAs.
He said the plight of the people is pitiful due to the severe hikes in the prices of oil and basic commodities, which the current administration has failed to solve. This is the reason why he gave Marcos’s SONA a failing grade yesterday.
