The Filipino people are pitiful—this was the lament of former Provincial Administrator Atty. Angel Lim regarding President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s promises to the public.

In a Bombo Radyo interview, the former official did not hold back in criticizing the administration after observing that programs like financial aid are merely being used for politics and publicity. Furthermore, in the administration’s third year in office, it has yet to solve the real hardships faced by the citizens.

It can be recalled that during the President’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) last Monday, he boasted of 500,000 completed housing units—contrasting with his initial promise of one million housing units annually—alongside expanded aid for the underprivileged.

However, Atty. Lim pointed out that these measures have failed to solve the country’s fundamental problems.
