“Puny!” This was the assessment of labor activist Ka Rene Magtubo regarding the Marcos administration’s efforts to protect the rights of the labor sector.

The official disclosed that in the four years of the current administration’s tenure, not a single dialogue has taken place between their group and the president to discuss wages, job security, and government anomalies.

Consequently, workers’ wages remain insufficient relative to the cost of living, while labor contracting practices in the country have increased.

Furthermore, the labor leader noted that they have seen no major improvements in public service because funds supposedly designed for workers’ welfare continue to be compromised.
