People’s Constitutional Reform Initiative Convenor Wilson Amad challenged energy companies to show the proper calculations for each electricity charge amid plans to scrap the system loss charge.
According to Amad, business owners will not suffer losses because their profits already reached 26 billion pesos in just the first half of the year and trend toward 50 billion pesos annually.
Beyond this, the convenor stated that eliminating the 10 billion peso charge for wasted electricity would merely reduce their greedy profit margins without disrupting their operations.
To prevent the shifting of this fee to other account titles, an auditor must review all billings to protect consumers.
