The local government unit identified fare reductions for provincial buses as a key solution to address commuter complaints during the month-long dry run of the city’s transport ordinance.

City Information Officer Jade Adeser announced that Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy and the Roads and Traffic Administration will meet with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) under Regional Director Bindejo to formally discuss and approve the fare reduction proposal.

Adeser explained that the amount discounted from provincial bus fares can be reallocated by commuters to pay for local transport fares into the city center.

Local transport groups have assured city hall that they have enough capacity to accommodate all daily students and workers arriving at the Bulua and Agora terminals.
