Police forces in Cagayan de Oro City will remain on heightened alert throughout the month-long Higalaay Festival celebrations until the end of the month.
COCPO Spokesperson Major Emilita Simon explained that police units are deployed to secure high-traffic public areas and protect visiting VIPs attending the Mindanao Business Conference.
The command is conducting weekly peace and order operations to deter criminal activity in crowded venues.
Simon urged the public to assist law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities and praised media partners for broadcasting public safety reminders.
